Happy 6 months Flynn!

Half a year has passed since we welcomed our beautiful little Flynn into the world. Half a year that our family has been complete. I just can't believe it.

Laying in the bassinet as a newbie and again as a big Buddha :)

To our beautiful boy,

You have turned from a tiny 7lb newborn baby into a big almost 10kg Buddha boy! How far you have come in 6 months! You have a tooth!! You sprouted it 3 days before your 6 month birthday. You still love boobies as much as ever (huge YAY for 6 months successful breastfeeding, the longest I have been able to feed for!) and you now have 2 solid meals a day. For lunch you have stewed apple with some mashed up banana mixed in and for dinner you have steamed carrot. I steamed and stewed a bunch of food up for you, put it in the ice cube tray and froze it so your food is all ready to go! Now you don't have to wait for me to cook it from scratch. Patience is not your strong suit, that's for sure!
That probably also explains why you are so eager to get up and get going. You can roll over and you try so very hard to crawl so I don't think it will be long before you are on the move. At the moment you can shuffle backwards, so you are pretty pleased with yourself!

Up on all fours!
I am very proud of you, you are such a clever little cookie. You have learnt how to blow raspberries and poke your tongue out at everybody. You are a cheeky monkey! During feeds you will try and grab my face and I tell you no, so you start smiling and "gooo"ing at me as if to say "you can't be mad at me Mum!". I can't help but giggle at you.
You are a happy boy most of the time. You get so itchy and irritated some days due to your eczema which we think is allergy related. For the last 2 months your sleeping has been horrendous, I don't know how you aren't exhausted! You are feeding every 2 hours at the moment. Our CHN wanted us to go to sleep school but I'm riding it out until I know for sure whether it is allergies causing your sleeplessness. When times get tough I keep reminding myself that you are only going to be this little once and if you need comfort from me I'll give it to you because that's my job.

We wake up to your beautiful smiles every morning. I just have to say a word to you and your face lights up. Strangers are always getting big grins from you and we are always hearing from them how cute you are. You have such a beautiful aura about you that makes everyone fall in love with you.

Everyone including your big brother. I'm watching this extraordinary thing happen right before my eyes. My boys are forming a very special bond with one another and its magical. You are obsessed with Lucas. Your eyes follow Lucas whenever he is in the room. You laugh when Lucas is doing acrobatics and smile whenever he talks to you. If Lucas is in arms reach, you are trying to tear him towards you.
Lucas is a great big brother. He said to you yesterday "kill monsters bubby?" and handed you a sword. He will be so excited when you are running around playing with him. That, or pissed that he has to share his toys! He heard you wake up from your cat nap and ran up to the room, climbed onto the side of the cot and said "HI FYNN!" (he has the F downpat, still working on the L) and you gave him one of your super big grins. I can't wait to watch you two grow up and play together. Not looking forward to the fights so much, but it happens and I know you'll forgive each other after 5 seconds.

We are completely smitten by you, Flynn. You are a beautiful last addition to our family! Happy 6 months our Buddha man!! We love you more than the stars in the sky and the fish in the sea xxx
