Despite being in pain and having such limited movement, my nesting instinct kicked in yesterday afternoon. I started re-arranging things and having that uncontrollable urge to clean, just like I did with Lucas! I don't know if it was the scare we had on the weekend that has made me want to get things ready for our new arrival, but at least the house will be ready to bring our boy home to! I think my crocheting is a bit of a nesting thing too. I'm making the baby yet another set of crocheted gear to add to his collection (not that he really needs anymore, but anyway!).
On Friday we had another growth scan and got to see our beautiful boy. I was amazed when we got to have a look at him in 4D. He looks just like Lucas, except he has his Daddy's gorgeous lips! I love him so much and can't wait to meet him so I can kiss his cute cheeks over and over again :) He is approximately 6lb 11oz, so if he ends up going full term, he will be a decent sized boy! Here is the closest comparison I can get of our two boys - they definitely have the same cute chubby cheeks!
It's so strange to think that it won't be long before I am "officially" a mum of two boys! I felt so prepared and ready for labour until our hospital stay over the weekend where we were told we might be meeting our baby that same day! It reminded me so much of my pregnancy with Lucas because he was an early bub too and a lot of things went wrong with his labour. I've decided I need to read my birth plan again, even watch The Business of Being Born again, to get my mind in the right place ready for the big day. Here is a video of our boy's gorgeous heart beat. I couldn't help but share!
And non-pregnancy/child related, I emailed the School of Nursing and Midwifery last week for some information. I'm hoping (if I get in, that is) that I can do a unit via distance, while I'm at home with the boys. I'd love to achieve something in the time I have off so I don't feel totally useless :) Fingers crossed!
The next time I blog I will probably be sitting here feeding my newborn son, with my crazy toddler boy either being very fascinated with his new brother, or not taking much notice of him at all. Wow, that day doesn't seem so far away anymore.......
