Time to get organised!

Hello 32 weeks gestation, I'm so happy to see you! I am still in disbelief that we are going to be welcoming our baby boy into our family in 8 weeks or less. It seems like the weeks are coming to an end almost as quick as they start and my tummy is growing just as rapidly! Its strange to think that at this point in my pregnancy with Lucas I was in early labour after getting medical intervention to help with my kidneys. I guess that is the reason why I am being so stubborn and holding off on the medical intervention this time around, for the fear of it happening all over again. I'm hoping to carry a full term baby this time around to contribute to a successful breastfeeding journey - so fingers crossed!

Earlier in the week I finally got to feel some tiny baby hiccups! I guess it really does depend on the position of the placenta as to how much you feel because I remember feeling lots of hiccups with Lucas. I think our little man has dropped further down into my pelvis as I woke up with a lot of pain in my pubic bone and back today, as well as the obvious drop I can notice when comparing my 31 and 32 week photo. I measured my tummy this morning and am now at 115cms - 1cm bigger than it was with Lucas at 36 weeks when I gave birth to him! I get lots of comments on the size of my tum (eg. twins) and the sex of our baby and I guess being hormonal makes them less funny. I'm noticing more stares when I go out in public now too. I guess they think I will give birth at any minute due to my size. I love my bump and I wear it proudly, stretchmarks and all!

We had our baby shower on Sunday and it was great fun! Most of the time was filled up with games, and we opened gifts at the end of the shower. We made it a family affair with Lucas and Matthew joining in and helping me open baby's gifts. Our boy got VERY spoilt!! I just want to give a big shout-out to everyone that came and helped us celebrate our baby and say a huge THANK YOU for spoiling him rotten!

We are quickly running out of room in our house and have decided to start the nursery tonight. I think I get into nesting mode at the most inappropriate times, but the urge is becoming stronger every day! I remember getting the urge to clean the entire house a few hours before my waters broke with Lucas, so as long as its gradual, I will take it as a good sign :) I took a before picture of our "junk" room so we can compare it to when we finally have a nursery.

Our big boy has successfully done another number 2 on the toilet and has been telling me when he thinks he needs to use it. We take him every time even if he doesn't do anything. At least he is giving it a go. I am so proud of him and all that he has achieved lately! I'm sure he will be potty trained before we know it, its a working progress at the moment and I don't want to put too much pressure on him and having it backfire. He has been touching my belly talking about the baby a lot lately. I just know he is going to be an awesome big brother!!

In other news, I applied for my leave of absence for university yesterday and am still waiting to see if it gets approved or not. I really can't wait to get stuck into nursing and midwifery - not sure how I will go with having two children under the age of 3 and the workload but I'm determined to succeed so I'll make it work. My amazing babies are my driving force!! x
