I'm meant to be "resting" right now but lets face it, resting is boring. I decided to update all my very loyal fans (and stalkers...) on what has been happening in our world for the last 5 days. After finding out just how big our baby man is at the moment, I thought it was about time I got my bottom into gear and attempted some maternity photos. My first attempt was at a silhouette, and after half an hour of setting the tripod, camera and background up I managed to get 2 decent shots. My second attempt was with Lucas, which made things a little more fun and we ended up capturing one cute picture! I'm glad I got a few pictures to remember my pregnancy by because I am 99.9% sure I will NOT be going back for another!

My appointment with the OB on Friday ended with a visit to PAC to get the medical intervention that I didn't want for another couple of weeks. It caused my early labour with Lucas (which could have just been a coincidence, but is a huge fear of mine) which is why I wanted to hold out for as long as possible. I came home from hospital with bad pains in my lower abdomen and ended up having to go back in to PAC later that night. I was put on the fetal monitor so they could get a reading of baby's heart beat and if I was having any tightenings/contractions. It took awhile for the midwife to pick up the heart beat because our baby decided he would be extra active and keep squirming, which amused his Daddy lots! I was having small tightenings but the midwife said it was because my uterus was irritated, which wouldn't do anything to the cervix which was the news we were hoping for! We would love to meet the little man, but he has a bit of growing on the inside to do yet.
Today was the day of Lucas' 2nd birthday party which was a real struggle for me, but I really didn't want him to miss out on his party! Matthew and I were up at 7.30am preparing food and getting things organised for a 12.30pm start. I don't know what I would have done without Matthew and my Mum, they were amazing and I'm sure Lucas wouldn't have had a party had they not helped me! I am so grateful for their help and would like to say thank you a million times to them both and to Lucas' wonderful guests that showed up. You were all lovely company and Lucas got very spoilt!
We are 29 weeks gestation today, which is one more week that our little man has had to grow and further develop! I can't believe how quickly the time is flying, its a little scary to be honest. I am almost ready to pack my hospital bag (thanks to my gorgeous friend for helping me with my list) and baby's bag is almost done too. We have a date set for our baby shower and invites are ready to go, so we really have the ball rolling! I would go and weigh myself and measure my big tum, but I'm currently stuck in the chair >:( Fingers crossed for a week of good health and no hospital visits!
This week motherhood has been...... extremely full on with planning a birthday party, hosting it, being in so much pain and hospital visits, but I've taken it all in my stride and wouldn't exchange this life for any other! x
